Converging fandoms

While I was indexing, I googled Trauma Center to see if it was just a game series and noticed one of the characters was Derek Stiles.

Now, I don't ship Sterek (and I recognize that Stiles' last name is Stilinski), and I kind of have a hate-on for future and the majorly AU fics in the Teen Wolf fandom, but you better believe I got a giggle over the coincidence.

So, what are some other fandoms that you like to mentally tie together?

Other examples I can think of right now are Agent Kasper (The West Wing), played by Clark Gregg, is also Agent Coulson (Agents of SHIELD) and, even though the name isn't right, like, at all, the Something Something Booth on the upcoming series Quantico is Seely Booth's kid from Bones.

Tim Matheson played Vice President Hoynes in The West Wing, who had been in AA since college because he liked beer too much. He also played one of the main characters in Animal House. I choose to assume they are the same person.

Honestly, Tim Matheson is the only reason I decided to watch Animal House (and I'm glad I did, because I really liked it).

It's such a classic!

And he's really good in it, too.

"Well, you can say what you want about us, Greg. But I'm not going to stand here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America! Gentlemen!"

it is a comedy classic and it's aged well.

(1) Ironically, mine too involves Trauma Center. I admit, I can't remember the exact details of how, but I ended up reading a Trauma Center/Phoenix Wright crossover fanfic that involved Phoenix (?) getting the GUILT virus.

Somehow this turned into me thinking that the Ace Attorney games were about a lawyer who had to defend people who had the GUILT virus, and thus thought they were guilty of crimes they didn't commit, and that the Trauma Center games were about surgeons, but had nothing to do with the GUILT virus.

(2) When I was younger and still waaaaaaay into Naruto, I read this Naruto/Ocarina of Time cross over fanfic, and now I still can't play OoT without thinking about how "this was the chapter that was a musical, and Kyuubi!Navi played the bongo drums" or "oh hey, this is the part where I want to start the quest for the biggeron sword, since this is when Naruto did in in the fanfic."

I like to imagine that several Karl Urban characters are all the same person. Specifically John Grimm in Doom, McCoy from Star Trek, and Vaako in Riddick.

Doesn't everybody do this?

Do they? I only know like 3 Karl Urban fans...

Bones=Reaper was definitely A Thing in New Trek fandom, and I remember seeing a LOT of Pitch Black crossovers as well.

Ah, I am talking more of a fan theory, less of a crossover.

The MCU, the TV series Chuck, and the movie Repo Man are clearly in the same universe.

The Harry Dean Stanton!verse.

I have got Deanna Troi mixed up with Donna Troy on more than one occasion.

Katherine Heigl played Isabel on Roswell. At the end of the series they all take off on the run from the government. Then she's Izzy on Grey's Anatomy. I just sort of headcanoned the shows together, even though they're totally different.

I don't headcanon them together or anything, but yesterday I watched The Smoke with Taron Egerton (Eggsy in Kingsman) and there were several connections that I found amusing.

I THINK this was filmed before Kingsman, but there was a Colin Firth reference, Taron's character Dennis said “Are you taking the fucking piss?" at one point (something Eggsy said too), and Eggsy's asshole step-dad Dean was a minor character in one of the episodes. (Even though the two never had scenes together.)

Metal Gear Solid and Buffy the Vampire Slayer take place in the same universe. This explains SO MUCH about Cobra Squad, frankly. Also, Buffy's (fake) boyfriend The Immortal is Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed and you will never convince me otherwise.

Silent Hill, Alan Wake, and Deadly Premonition all take place in the same universe. Harry Mason and Alan Wake have absolutely ended up at the same conventions before, and imagining their combined reactions if the hotel loses power while there's tornado sirens going off still cracks me the hell up. I still want a fic post DP and AW but during SH3 where Heather Mason, Alice Wake, and Agent Morgan are all in Silent Hill tracking down various missing persons.
