Snakes in the wild are ambush predators. Think a hunter up in a deer stand waiting for the large buck to come by, and shooting it. The human hunter obviously has the advantage.

Now take said human hunter and put him in a room and then let in a live terrified bull.

That's what feeding live is like. It's not at all natural, it's not a hunt, it's a cage match, and the mice and rats are armed.

Plus, you know, you pay upwards of 2k on a rare snake do you really want to risk it dying in a cage match with a $1 feeder rat?
