Awww. :( I'm sure that's not what would happen, anon.

Personally, even when I'm not into a fandom I find it nice to hear others speak passionately about their fandom. If you have a lot of enthusiasm for a subject it's going to shine through! When people get all excited about their interests I find it endearing, and automatically want to respond in kind. (Even if I can't because I'm not always well-versed on the subject in question.)

You don't need to be ashamed of your love, but I also won't say you're silly for being this way; sometimes you can't control what you feel.

This probably won't seem to help but....it MAY happen. I've seen people be rejected for stupid things. But the important thing is to remember that if someone rejects you for fanning over something they aren't worth it to begin with. If someone is cruel to you and rejects you for a senseless reason of enjoying something too much, their rejection should not be viewed as a judgement on yourself but a chance to be free from a horrible toxic friendship.

Nah, I don't think this is a bad comment; you have a point. I don't think any decent, sensible person would reject you for liking something "too much", but if someone does then absolutely you are right; there's no need to be down about it because they don't deserve that kind of reaction. If they have some weird problem with your interest and enthusiasm and can't deal with you having different tastes than them, they aren't someone you want as a friend anyway.

And frankly, someone is always going to judge you for something, even if it's not a fair or accurate judgement. Might as well try not to let it get you down, you know?
