Their theme parks are overpriced and in general they're overrated, but they get away with it since so many people have this nostalgia goggles view of them.

Are the theme parks significantly more expensive than other theme parks (particularly ones of similar size/quality)? It's been a long time since I've been to any of them in the US, but in Tokyo, I recall the price to Disneyland being about the same as Universal Studios, and to another big theme park, Fuji-Q Highland. I mean there might've been some difference, but it was all pretty expensive.

I mean what's reasonable for Disneyland or any other theme park? I'm not sure you can expect anything under $50 for any huge park, and it's not like Disney is only rides.

A luxury car could be in a similar price range to other luxury cars, but still be considered overpriced. IMO, theme parks are outrageously priced, period.

It doesn't really apply to me, as I'm not inclined to go to theme parks. I have no objection if other people want to go obviously, and no opinion about what they ought to pay since I figure that's up to them to decide.

I only remember the prices of the Orlando based theme parks, in which case yes, Disney parks are quite a bit more expensive. IIRC the order of costs is be SeaWorld << Universal << Disney.


Getting exact price comparisons is difficult because each one has multiple parks, so you get combi tickets and variations in admissions (one park per day versus multiple parks in one day).
