Yeah. That is when Disney has to decide if the negative press on their ridiculous copyright rigging is greater than the cost of letting the earliest version of Mickey Mouse go. It isn't a complete unlock, Disney have been canny enough about making each version of Mickey slightly different, but the Steamboat Willy version falls into public domain. It is possible they might just decide that keeping Mickey in copyright in Steamboat Willy form is more costly than letting him go, and just fighting later versions and using trademark law (which is different to copyright law) to keep hold of most of the output. It is complicated, and a lot comes down to just how much cash really rests on the early Mickey cartoons and how much goodwill (and revenue) would be lost from keeping it. Letting that one version go could buy a lot of goodwill for relatively little loss, so it might be a smart tactical move.

Either way, next few years are going to be interesting for copyright law.
