Dunno anymore. I think there's a lot of muddle discourse in trans circles (esp tumblr) that makes false positives more likely and I don't doubt that some dfab non-binary/trans people have some internal misogyny going on, but people know themselves better than I do so I don't feel comfortable saying you're not really trans.

I'd probably be labeled as such, even though I'm comfortable with the idea of non-binary/agender, or making the decision to not have any physical operations.

What makes me side-eye is the "you can literally choose your gender because being cis is ~boring~, here is your new bunself pronoun" special snowflake bullshit. Yes, I've seen it; no, it wasn't a troll.

wut.

actually, no, i believe it. i've had issues with gender identity back pre-internet days and even considered T and decided that no i am actually cis, so i guess i'm familiar with some of the ways that one can be confused... this is just a whole new level of special.

but sure, i'm not about to question most people's self-identity because fuck that.

I met up with an old friend at the beginning of the month, she feels that she does not fit, mentally, into either gender, but has only ever had a minor dislike of her body and dislikes the trend of people online acting "If you didn't go through discovering your gender issues THIS way then you're not truly genderqueer!".

That only cements the idea in mind that the subject of dysphoria has to be judged on a case-by-case basis and no two people experience it the same, if they have it at all.

However I do suspect some people call themselves trans/genderqueer because it's the latest cool thing, and/or they are at a questioning stage in life and don't want to admit the question can be answered with a "No, I'm not genderqueer".

Probably, but to be honest, I really don't give a shit about trans people. If they want to do what they're doing, fine, whatever, I just get tired of hearing about it.
