That's absolutely true, and shameful. But then again think of all the movies about the stories of famous white men who leave out domestic abuse etc. and no one says anything.

So we have some kind of obligation not to mention it here?

We should mention it every time.

Uh no, mention it. But just be mindful of why you're so hyper aware about Dre's domestic violence in the NWA biopic, but probably aren't aware of (or excuse) the domestic violence committed by famous white men

That's one hell of a conclusion you're jumping to there, anon. If I'm not mistaken, the point I'm coming down harder on Dre because he's a Black man, but I assure you that I am well aware of (and routinely mention, and never excuse, thanks) conspicuously absent domestic abuse in biopics of people regardless of their race. Don't form narratives that don't have any basis in reality.

SA

Not...sure why half my sentence got whisked away there. "If I'm not mistaken, the point *you're trying to make is that* I'm coming down harder"

Why are people always insinuating that if you care about one thing, you absolutely cannot care about another thing in equal measure? Most people have the capacity to care about several issues at once. We're not Peter Pan fairies.

I'm stealing this for future use!

"stories of famous white men who leave out domestic abuse etc. and no one says anything"

Yeah. Nobody knows about Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings, and there definitely haven't been any books or articles written on the subject.

... oops, never mind.
