Relating to things in real life. "Venting" is not an excuse to hurt and lash out at people especially when they did nothing wrong. Have a mental illness or issues? Doesn't mean you can take it out on people. It doesn't mean they have to put up with it when you hurt them.

I've had to learn that someone having mental health issues doesn't mean I should excuse them. It explains why they may do or say certain things, but your mental health is also important, and let me tell you, sometimes it's compromised by people telling you you're a horrible person and should be ashamed of existing all because you gave an opinion they didn't like.

This can also apply to a couple of drinks in you. If you're spewing vile after one drink...that's some surface thoughts you're sharing there and honestly, not an excuse.

+3 and I say this as someone who has a mental illness and has had to learn not to treat other people like shit in some circumstances. I've also been on the receiving end of it.
