I don't want to link because I'll be torn to shreds by a popular writer's followers, but there's a 10ish chapter fic that is basically someone typing out all of the canon dialogue and descriptions of each scene, and they've only added maybe 5% original content. That's being generous.

Everyone is crazy about it though. Like "this should be canon" and stuff like that.

Why will you be torn to shreds? I doubt there's a bunch of the writer's followers hanging around on FS, and fans don't usually scour the internet trying to find people who criticize stories they like.

Or you can just go anon and link it.

It's a medium sized fandom if there is such a thing. There's a group of popular writers and artists who have a lot of followers and run the holiday fests and stuff. They seem nice enough and they've contributed some cool stuff, it's just this one fic that I don't understand the popularity of.

I don't think going anon really works AFTER I've given a description of the fic.

I feel like I've definitely discovered a new way to annoy people here. Be vague and uncooperative. Oops.
