Re: "Don't teach me not to get raped, teach men not to rape"

I sometimes feel like there actually is a rape culture in the US. But it only applies to male victims. Because sexually based crimes with female victims are seen as the worst crime a man can commit but when men are raped, it's a joke. Female teacher took advantage of young student? He should feel lucky! Prison rape is just hilarious - don't drop the soap! And female comedians can make all the rape jokes they want, so funny! And this whole attitude leads to male victims not being taken seriously at all, being erased and belittled to the point where they don't even know they are a victim because hey, men can't be raped right?

It's not that I disagree, because that stuff is fucked up as hell.

But there's also other aspects of rape culture that don't have to do with male victims.

Not just rape jokes, Amy Schumer actually committed a rape, and then went on to do a public talk shaming the victim for not being man enough to satisfy her! There was ZERO public outcry outside of the MRA community and since they're always outcrying about stupid shit, they've got a "boy who cried wolf" kinda thing going on.

Had it been her who was intoxicated and raped, you know there would have been almost nothing but cries to murder the man (except from the MRA camp, of course) for breaking societies golden rule about rape and how rapists of women are the worst people in the world!
