Hold up. This doesn't have an anime already? Why the hell not? (Then again, it did take Parasyte two decades.)

What's this manga like? Is it worth reading the whole thing? I like the art style - it reminds me of old-school shoujo.

But according to Wikipedia it's an ongoing series, and I'd like to know what I'm getting into before I get sucked into yet another never-ending series with a plot that ultimately either goes nowhere or goes somewhere really stupid. I learned my lesson from Bleach.

I haven't read 7 Seeds in a long time BUT if you're interested in the art and want something that's finished, Yumi Tamura also did Basara which is hands down one of my favorite manga series of all time. It's like 25 volumes for the main story + 2 extra for side stories. It's about a girl leading a revolution against an oppressive government set in post-apocalyptic Japan.

Seconding Basara really really hard (I thought the artwork was Sarasa, tbh).

Basara was the first shoujo manga I've read and it makes me have unreasonably high standard for shoujo manga.

Having read the series up to its most recently scanlated chapter, I very much recommend it. There are a lot of arcs, some quite long and some better than others but they all serve a story and character purpose and it definitely knows where it's headed. Going by recent chapters I suspect we're in the final stretch, so I wouldn't worry about it turning into a Bleach.

It's a post-apocalyptic story with an ensemble cast.
The protagonists are separated into groups and trying to find other survivors, as well as living in the wild, exploring ruins and building a new society.
We're in the last part of the manga and I'm pretty sure most of the story was planned from the start so it's not a case of making-up-stuff-as-the-author-draws.

If you'd still prefer a finished manga, I second the Basara recommendation above.

Cheer up, no anime is better than a shitty one that covers 5% of the plot and is animated by DEEN!

The art is pretty.
Is that a girl or a boy?

It's a girl, one of the main protagonists.
