I can't claim to be part of the original fandom, but my mom was and owns the entire series on DVD. I've watched quite a bit of it with her, though, and I enjoyed the movie. It's definitely not the show (especially Armie Hammer who is a COMPLETELY different Illya) but for what it is I think it's fun, and it does capture the humor of the original show.

For what it's worth I believe David McCallum (original Illya Kuryakin) has gone on record supporting it.

Augh, I adored Illya in the original series, so now I'm really concerned about nu!Illya...

Nah, don't be anon. This film is so cute. I just loved it. I was in love with Ilya when I was a child and into my early teens. Adored the show.
But the film is great, it's not the same, but evokes the period so well, has lots of humour, and the chemistry between the actors is wonderful.
