Yep. I grew up watching Friends in my (pre)teens. The characters are in their early/mid twenties at the start of the show. The idea is that their lives are a mess (like the theme song explains) but now I'm 31 and...they had a really good thing going there.

Based on what I've seen of Friends (which admittedly is not very much), the protagonists are indeed VERY well off for twenty-somethings. Makes me a bit jealous, not gonna lie.

Rewatching Friends now makes me feel the same way. I guess it feels really disingenuous now knowing what the cost of rent is in NY. There's no way they could afford their apartments with only one extra roommate considering the jobs they had.
