I absolutely cannot tell theo and the other new guy apart. Jeff Davis certainly has a type of white boy he likes.

Liam and Parrish periodically end up in just the right angle and I feel like I'm looking at Jackson Lite for both of them.

Theo, though, I just keep being distracted by how much he looks like Adam Scott.

Well he's fucked most of them. That isn't a big secret

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Tell me more

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I have always suspected that he did this with a few of them. And the way he drooled and fawned over Dylan O'Brien was so obvious it was uncomfortable for me to watch (I have issues with the age and power difference). Is it truly no secret?

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Are you saying it's because Dylan O'Brien was his type so he made uncomfortable comments, or because you think something happened between the two of them?

Yeah, some people seem to jump through a lot of hoops to make believe Scott is white and then be critical of that. Maybe, maybe if a white actress were cast as his mother, viewers could be sort of justified in believing Scott's a white kid who's just very tan.

But they didn't, so...

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
They were happy enough to accept that he was hispanic when they wanted to make Scott/Isaac "I love Mexican," jokes, is what really gets me. They'll buy it for a gay joke but not for actually respecting the character background.

Scott has a lot of faults, but as an actual character he's fairly progressive?

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
He is white. White Hispanic is white.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
He's not Hispanic, he's half Mexican-American, you ass.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Mexican and American are not races.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
But Hispanic is? Hahaha no.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it technically isn't. That is why he is white.

Kinda off topic, but I can never tell the two white guys apart in Pacific Rim.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Me, neither.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think anybody can without a lot of staring.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
I was glad when they went out of their way to confirm that Scott is hispanic in-show. For a while I was pretty sure they were just ignore Tyler's ethnicity and having him play white. One of the few good things Teen Wolf has done.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
What is "playing white"? Because Hispanic people don't go to high school? Can't get jobs with vets? Can only have stereotypically mexican home decor and MUST celebrate Dia De Los Muertos? Please.

Wait, hold up: Do I have to turn in my Hispanic card because I had a Sweet 16 instead of a Quinceanera? I hope not, because I'm counting on it for some scholarships.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
While AYRT did word it badly, I'd imagine they meant that instead of just having his character be white (since I guess he can pass) or not specifying, they explicitly made his character Mexican-American.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
But, I mean, you can LOOK AT HIM and tell he's not white?

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Nah. To my European eyes he looks white, and by that I mean if he were European I'd say he's possibly from a southern country (Spain, Italy etc.) which doesn't make him PoC.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
NA: Does he look European-race to you in this pic? I didn't think so but I'm not European.

Not what I meant at all, and I am a latina too so chill. All I meant is: a lot of times hispanic actors who don't have dark skin or otherwise fit a visual stereotype are made to play white characters. Raul Esparza does it, Laura Harring does it, I'm sure other lighter skinned hispanic actors do it. Hell, I have people thinking I'm Italian sometimes cause I don't fit their visual stereotype of what the media feeds them is "hispanic." So it was nice to have the writers confirm the character is hispanic cause otherwise I am sure a lot of people would insist no there is no way Scott could be hispanic his last name is McCall after all!!

(Anonymous) 2015-08-27 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Except for the fact that almost never happens, I guess I agree with you.
