What show(s) were your childhood?

Even if you didn't watch a ton of TV as a kid, what are the shows that defined your childhood most strongly?

Rugrats and Dragon Ball Z. Man, both of those shows were so awesome.

Seinfeld! Though I watched it secretly through the crack in my parents' bedroom, and only understood about 1/4 of it. I didn't get to watch much TV as a kid :'(

We had two TV channels when I was a kid (<7), so we didn't watch TV that much. Mostly it was cartoons, such as The Smurfs, Doctor Snuffles, The three muskehounds, Il était une fois... l'Espace and Superted. The original Battlestar Galactica is the only show with actual actors that I can remember watching.

Power Rangers, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, Tiny Toon Adventures, and Animaniacs.

The latter two in particular meant a lot to me, because they had female characters (particularly Babs and Dot) who were just as goofy and not above slapstick like the guys were, which was a Pretty Big Deal to me as a little girl. Plus, 'Fields of Honey' will never not be relevant, even in this day and age.

Power Rangers, obvs up until Turbo (which, like most people, was when I grew out of it). Half the reason why I rolled a female Bounty Hunter in 'The Old Republic' was b/c the female hunter's love interest -Torian- was voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch... and I had a huge crush on Adam as a kid. BioWare gets me. XV

Space Ghost was pretty much influential in shaping my sense of humor, as well as the genesis of a lot of family injokes. To this day, I still exclaim "Why, Banjo? Why?" whenever something goes hilariously wrong every now and then (or when one of my dogs does something bad), ahaha.

I watched A LOT of television growing up, but probably Boy Meets World, The Simpsons, Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Home Improvement.

And then of course, Golden Girls marathons on sick days.

Pokemon and Digimon. I didn't have cable growing up though, only Fox Kids (which Pokemon was never on), so that made Pokemon REALLY special when I got to see it. I was obsessed with the games (red/blue at that time) and getting to watch it in hotels, or rent the VHS tapes, nothing made me happier.

Otherwise whatever was on Fox Kids. I was obsessed with Power Rangers, the first season hit when I was in kindergarten and I probably watched it until fifth grade or so. Young Hercules, Mystic Knights of Tir-na-nog. Beetle Borgs. Any action type show was good for me.

Also, Saturday mornings, fox kids or that other channel we had would play things like X-men, Spiderman and Batman, so I watched that growing up too.

Cat's Eye and Attack No. 1. I don't think either were big in the US but at least Attack No. 1 was very popular in Germany. Half the people I know who play volleyball got into it because of Attack No. 1.

Sailor Moon and later Pokèmon and Digimon as well. The Bugs Bunny Show, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Home Improvements. The anime I watched after school and talked about with firends. When we were really young (kindergarden/primary school age) we would play make-believe and pretend we were the sisters from Cat's Eye or the Sailor Scouts, depending on how many kids we were. My family always came to the living room to watch the Bugs Bunny Show and the sitcoms together, even after my sister had her own TV in her room.

And Stargate SG-1, because that was the one show for which I was allowed to stay up past my bedtime and I always watched it with my father, even the re-runs. To this day I can identify any episodes from season 1-4 by hearing only a few lines of dialogue.

I didn't get to watch TV as a kid except at other people's houses.

Despite this, The Real Ghostbusters was still my first fandom.

Doctor Who - the old series. I watched through the whole Seventh Doctor when it was first broadcast in Australia. The ABC used to put it on at 5:30.
