It's not a great show. It's fine, but it's not great.

And it also really, really started out on the wrong foot. Now, it's not unique in that by any means - if anything, at this point, it would be stranger for a Star Trek show to have a strong start. But it really didn't help, especially since people were already kind of skeptical given the concept.

It's not all about fan rage. There are valid reasons to be iffy on it.
