^ The same reason that a lot of dudebros don't take things like lit or fine art seriously - lol feelings, amirite, what a wimp - and why men judge each other on how much money they make or how many women they've had sex with. "What have you done? Prove me your worth with your actions." Imo, anyway.

^^ And the absolute shittiest thing is that you'll find people who respond to shit like Columbine with faint approval because those guys "had the balls" to "at least do something about it." The people who say that are usually men ime.

Really? Most of the people I see (online) rooting for the Columbine shooters are those crazy women/girls who are serial killer/shooter groupies. The same people who thought the Boston Marathon bombers were so dreamy.

Nah, that's not the people I mean. Crazy people who profess to be fans and aren't ashamed are outliers. I was talking about people who thought the shooters were wrong and were not fans, but who still thought of "taking action" as the sole positive part of it all.

"At least they had the balls to ___" is a common comment to something otherwise reprehensible. Which is why you also get far more men than women IRL priding themselves on "talking straight" or "being an asshole" because that to them is doing something or taking action instead of being polite in order to avoid a problem.

This makes me suspect some substantial overlap with the people who still think that the Columbine shooters were bullying victims who had been pushed over the edge.

A lot of (if not the majority) of people think that. Not because they empathize with the shooters but because that is is how the media portrayed the shooters.
