I was in a car accident a month ago, and it's been such a nightmare. It was the other person's fault and my car was totalled, so I've been without a car for a month. The insurance refused to give me enough money to replace it, and after getting a lawyer involved, they agreed to give me more than they originally wanted to, but I'm still about $2000 short of what it will cost to get a comparable car. So I have to either settle for a car that's not as good as the one I had, or take out a loan. My car was paid off and to have to have a car payment again because of something that was 100% beyond my control is so fucking infuriating, and everyone's like "well, that's just how it is, sucks for you but there's nothing you can do". I thought that was what lawyers were for but...apparently not.

I'm hoping I'm going to be able to get enough of a settlement to break even on a car, but it will probably be several months before I ever see that money, if I get any.
