Re: Do you think sexual orientation is 100% genetic?

Nope.

I do believe genetics can be a factor. Like in my case, I've always been attracted to "both genders" (I'm putting that in quotes since growing up, I didn't know such a thing as trans/genderfluid existed). However, I was also raised by a strictly Roman Catholic mother. I had no idea that anything other than heterosexuality existed. But I still had those feelings. I just thought something was "wrong" with me. That I was "broken" and didn't understand the whole attraction thing.

Now that I've grown up and seen more of the world, I have a name to put to my orientation. And now I can see looking back, I highly suspect my Dad may be bi, but he's so far in the closet, he's in Narnia (his abusive, alcoholic father did his best to beat any "sissyness" out of him).

However, I also know that others have very different experiences. There are some who choose to lean farther to one side of the scale than others, and some who experience trauma. Those are perfectly legitimate as well.

So I think sexuality is as complex as humans are, and that includes orientation.
