I've never seen it, to be honest.

I haven't seen Frozen either.

I think the last Disney princess I got super excited for was Mulan. I think I aged out of them to be honest.

I remember the ones I grew up with fondly -- Cinderella, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Pocohontas, Ariel, Mulan -- but not really the ones that came after (nor Snow White because she kind of creeped me out).

I liked Megara too but she's not considered a princess generally.

I can still appreciate Disney but the attachment isn't there the same way it was when I was a kid.

You forgot Esmerelda.

Megara is the best! She would be my favorite Disney princess if she was actually considered as one.

I wanted to like it, but so much of it fell flat to me.

Tiana deserved better. :(

Starting with better fucking music, for one. :I

I thought it was mostly boring, but my God it was one of the prettiest films they've made in ages. And Charlotte was the best BFF character ever.

I thought it was ok. Not my favourite but the fact they went for a more traditional animation style spoke to my nostalgia.

Also I know Disney can be brutal when required but Ray...that was an extra layer of "wow they actually went there" for me. The crunch :\

It's mine too! I understand it has flaws but I really wish it wasn't so overlooked. Tiana's my fave princess. Also I don't care what anyone says, the soundtrack is catchy.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought it was a marvellous film.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
i liked it a lot and I normally don't like most Disney movies.

It's not my favourite but I do really like it. It's one of those movies that for me got better on re-watches rather than wow-ing me the first time through, but I like the characters, Tiana is lovely and I love how the music is themed around the film's setting.

Still need to see this...oops.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It's pretty fun, I think, unless you're bugged by talking alligators and/or Randy Newman.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine, too, OP!

(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It was a beautiful film, but I think a lot of the heart got sucked out of it because of Disney's fears of coming off as 'racist' (Madeline makes more sense than Tiana, IMO)

I need to see it! Picking my favorite is difficult, but I think it's between Mulan and Lion King. Aladdin holds a special place in my heart too.

It looks very pretty but I've never got around to it.

(Honestly, I haven't been excited for Disney movies in years. I watched Frozen because a friend absolutely adored it and I wanted to be able to discuss it with her, and I watched Tangled because I wanted to hear Zachary Levi sing. Watched Wreck-It Ralph because I was bored and heard it was good and was surprised at how delightful it was, but beyond that...I haven't seen many Disney films in the past decade.)

I was seriously disappointed by it! There were so many reasons why I should've liked it, like the animation style and the genre of the music, but none of the songs were memorable and the plot bored me. It's unfortunate, because I really did want to like it.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't see how this should be a secret, it could be improved in some ways but at least it's not the soulles mediocrity that is frozen

(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry but I really thought it was the worst recent Disney movie I've seen. I also think Frozen is okay but nothing to write home about. I absolutely loved Tangled though.

And I liked Big Hero 6 but I'm not sure if it's a Disney movie?

Princess and the Frog isn't my favourite, but it's probably in the top ten. I think it has such a fabulous beginning and end ... but the middle drags a lot and I only really like two of the songs: Almost There and Friends from the Other Side, which again, are both at the beginning.

Tiana is also one of my favourite princesses, up there with Belle and Mulan. And Charlotte is definitely one of the best supporting characters out there.

PATF has my favorite characters from any disney princess movie.

I really liked it too. I never quite got over the fact that the entire main plot p much happened within like two days, but it's a fun movie!

I think I was too old to really enjoy it. And my sister was too young.

Mulan was my sweet spot, hit me at just the right age to become my favourite. Frozen is my little sister's.

Glad you have a fave! Nothing to be ashamed of.

I really like it too! It's not like, my FAVORITE, but it would be in my top 5 for sure.
