I've never seen any of this canon, but holy SHIT, this sounds awful. It honestly surprises me that a mainstream TV show which I haven't heard any wank about before could pull something like this.

Yeah, I see lower downthread that there are actually differing opinions on the situation presented. It's just that I was assuming the OP was really describing a case where the father is unambiguously abusive and toxic.

I've only seen a little of "NCIS" here and there over the years, myself, but I have encountered fans of the show online, and holy hell, the fandom can be one MAJOR wankfest.

Want proof? Go to the TV Line website, find the show in the list of "hot shows", and pull up any article related to it. Seriously. Any article will do. You will find so much wank and infighting, to the point of sheer ridiculousness.
