How so? American Christmas is barely over a hundred years old. It used to be a holiday where people just got shitfaced, had a lot of sex, and pestered rich people. Then there's the other pagan bits thrown in, Norse, Roman, Celtic, etc.

It's a fun winter holiday about a fat elf bringing presents to children, good will, and all that jazz. You don't need to be religious to have enjoy or celebrate it.
