IA with that, but I have no idea what Elizabeth is; she could be anything! IIRC there aren't any 'hints', so it's all up in the air. Any way you want to imagine her could be correct...there's not much to go off of, so I allow people their headcanons.
Asexual works, as does straight or lesbian or bi. Any of it seems possible from what little we've seen.

If that's what people are implying, then I agree. It's a silly way to think.
Like, escaping Columbia and killing Comstock was a pretty massive thing to focus on; she probably didn't have much time to think about sex. This is partially why I find so many canon couples to be forced (especially in films), because there often isn't enough time to make the couple convincing while still dealing with all the issues the characters face. I don't think it's impossible by any means, but sometimes it just doesn't work.
Now, it would've been easy enough to reference her sexuality while not focusing on it (she could've made a throw-away comment about finding an NPC attractive, etc) and I wouldn't have minded it, but I'm okay with things as is too.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)Yeah that's how I feel. And even if she did at all, it'd be way way down the list of priorities, shoved to the background.
She kinda flirts a little with Booker in the beginning, but that could also just be her thinking that's what she's supposed to do based on the books she's read. Oh it's a guy, he rescued me from my tower, this is like a romance I read, I guess I should ask him if he's single...
I definitely agree we just don't know and I don't have any problems with people thinking she's whatever they want her to be. She's almost a blank slate sexuality-wise which is appealing when it comes to fandom. But I wish the discussion of sexuality was different!

That's how I feel about sex in most media (not saying I don't enjoy it, and I am a gigantic shipper in general who likes sex to be included in such things, but still), but I also recognize that sex is more important to some characters and that works too. Just depends on the specific character and situation, and in this particular one sex isn't important. (Doesn't mean it isn't a possibility, just that it wasn't explored.)
Maybe! Like I said, I actually do ship her with Booker and felt there was a bit of something there while I was playing (lol at that whole situation), but it felt pretty passive. It wasn't something I felt Elizabeth was spending a lot of time thinking about though, especially because as mentioned, she didn't have much room for that kind of thought in the first place. They had chemistry though, and were cute, but...we don't know exactly how Elizabeth felt towards Booker at the time.
But I wish the discussion of sexuality was different!
I can't fault you for that.
