My first thought was you were talking about Elizabeth Bennet and I was excited there were people writing smut about Pride and Prejudice. Now I'm disappointed.

I refuse to believe that Kate Beaton has been telling me lies. And there is at least one fic out there about Darcy and Elizabeth dealing with his erectile dysfunction (no, I haven't got the link, but it was on AO3).

I work in a library, and while I'd bet there's fanfic out there somewhere, I know there's published fanfic, because I've shelved a lot of it. And at least some of it is basically bodice-ripper romances.

Yeah. 'Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife' comes to mind.

The thing with P&P fanfic is, since it's all public domain, if it's at all profitable to publish it, it will be published. So there ends up being less on the internet.

My great-aunt* a published book of one shot stories based on Pride and Prejudice once - they were all shippy or smut, I think, but the only one I can remember properly involved Charlotte Lucas and Mr Collins eventually achieving a satisfying sex-life by accidentally discovering D/S, with the emphasis on Charlotte very mcuh on Charlotte's perspective. (It wasn't very explicit, but still definitely smut). I have to admit that even though Mr Collins generally makes my skin crawl, it was kind of hot. (Sadly I lost the book during a move... anyone recognise it?)


* Who I am fairly sure hadn't read any of the content and possibly even not the back cover properly, but I have never been entirely sure.
