ayrt I know, but the OP wanting to talk about period stuff and "girly things", presumably there'd be some kind of understanding of a mutual experience with talking about one's period. Or even with not, someone who's freshly come out might just be really sensitive at any mention at first, dunno whether triggered but definitely not up for a comfortable friendship sympathy exchange about non-dysphoric friend groaning about bloody cramps.

As long as OP approaches it as complaining about her own period and not acting as though she expects the other people to have intimate experience with it, I don't think it'd be as big an issue as she might think. Complain about it like you'd complain about it to any other guy, basically.
