Haha. It was a confusing conversation, because I agreed about a lot of stuff, and we're still very similar in some ways in what we think and how we feel about ourselves. He just maybe had a different goal in mind? I mean, I'd love to be treated like my gender doesn't matter. He wanted to be treated like a man.

I think in high school too, I probably had some of the same dysphoria about puberty that he did. I didn't want boobs or periods. That might be where the idea started? We also shared clothes a lot and we both had a preference for men's clothing. It's just way more comfortable on all levels, and the pants have real pockets!

ayrt I'm with you on that. I have had a kind of dysphoria about the "female" bits, and not at all girly, and considered whether I might be trans or genderqueer. Then like you, I decided that for me my gender didn't matter, I'm reasonably comfy in my own skin though, ideally I'd love it if no one made assumptions about my gender.

Yeah, I'm glad I have friends who would support me if I needed it, but I don't feel like I'd be any more myself as a trans man, if that makes sense? I'd most likely have felt uncomfortable going through puberty if I'd been born male, too. I think that's just me.

It's cool talking to other people about gender and sexuality because it's in the back of my mind sometimes that something is wrong with me, but I feel comfortable with it, so maybe it's not a bad thing, and knowing that other people feel the same way about themselves is weirdly reassuring.

It is weirdly reassuring, I get you. I guess we could make tumblr bios with fancy identity labels and talk a looot about it if we wanted... but I'm just going to keep trucking on being a bit weird about my gender stuff and that's okay.

See, I don't even know enough about all these labels to pick one. Tumblr is one of those things I looked at and just went "oh god. I feel old."
