Craigslist Casual Encounters is a popular resource, but the signal-to-noise ratio isn't that high. Cliff Pervocracy wrote about her experiences on it some years back: http://pervocracy.blogspot.com/2009/12/watershed-moment.html and the rest of the posts tagged "craigslist" are a good start.

As far as safety: meet somewhere public first, negotiate activities in advance, make sure the guy can take no for an answer, use protection, and it is okay (though slightly pedantic) to ask him to bring recent STD test results to prove he's negative.
