I've used it. Been too busy lately.

Honestly, it depends on the group and how it is run. Like, I'm part of an awesome ecology volunteer group - meetup at like 5am and count X endangered species, report it, get free milo. The sci-fi and fantasy one I went to a few times was nice, a bit awkward but I got new book recs out of it. Haven't been back in a year tho.

On the otherhand the dog walking one I joined and very quickly unjoined was an absolute clusterfuck with a power-mad admin with delusions of grandeur. That group is a liability just waiting to happen.

But you can't really tell until you go.

Thanks for the reply. I'll just try a few groups and see how it goes.
