Granted, I haven't seen the most recent seasons of the show, but you are a good example of one of the major reasons I stopped watching. There are way too many "woobieTony" fans. His dad wasn't shown to be abusive (neglectful and not the greatest parent, sure, but not the abuser that a lot of fans were overstating for "poor widdle Tony"). And honestly? Tony has given out as much or more to the others as he has taken. There are a heck of a lot of not-great interactions on the show (like the one with McGee and the dog mentioned in the thread), but Tony is only a "victim" for a few of them. Yet somehow he seems to get the vast majority of the defending. Gee, I wonder why.
