If you're just here for the music, why not just get the music and ignore fan spaces?

That's what I do. I listen to the music, sometimes watch the pretty vids, and very occasionally bother learning one of their names. I even saw a few of them live (for free).
But I stay far away from the wank and definitely don't care about any "problematic" elements.
