I still cannot fathom how you can feel "unsafe" due to someone's opinion on the internet, unless a person's actually harassing you.

same way religious people feel threatened by anyone else's opinion

The only thing I could see feeling unsure about someone, is if when a character's actions are clearly fucked up and the person's like "nah they're okay" and say the victim is being stupid or whatever.

For example in Gunnerkrigg Court I found Ani's dad making her move back home and isolating her from everyone for the excuse of her "studies" to be seriously fucked up and if anyone tried to argue that there was nothing wrong with that I would seriously side eye them.

But I don't think I would feel unsafe unless I knew them IRL and knew they had some power over me, which is highly unlikely.

Ugh. Annie's dad is the worst.

I once told a friend about all of the things he did, and ....well let's just say they thought it was so fucked up they didn't want to get into the comic.

I just cannot get how someone cannot see that his behavior is not right. And even with the newest updates saying that he's sorry are enough to totally change my opinion.
