What if those criticisms don't necessarily mean you like the character?

I have plenty towards Hermione, but at the same time, that's why I like her character. She isn't just the "sweet nerdy bookish one." (Well, maybe in the movies.) She can be insensitive. Sometimes in her trying to help others, she makes things worse and/or demeans them. At the beginning of the first book she was actually kind of a Mean Girl. But those flaws are also why I love her. They make her believable. So... yeah, they're criticisms, but it doesn't mean I don't like the character.

Sorry it isn't doing anything for you as much anymore though, OP. It does suck to really enjoy something at the start only to lose interest more and more as time goes on.

This seems to be a fairly popular opinion. I didn't think either Dumbledore was spot-on, but I liked him better than Harris. Dumbledore is supposed to be strong and powerful, the only wizard Voldemort ever feared. Yes, he's also funny and odd. But Harris only ever showed the funny and odd part. Not his fault given his age and health, but I don't think he could have pulled off the later Dumbledore.
