Should there be rules about secrets made about users?

I don't want to say there should be a ban necessarily but I kind of feel like they should be closely looked at and weighed whether they should be posted or not. Because I feel like there is the potential for them starting up meanspirited wank where everybody just talks shit about a user, and I dunno. Maybe this is me being paranoid but it was just a thought. I feel like there is the potential that someone might abuse the idea.

Fanfic question

I spent some time in the Star Wars fandom around the time Attack of the Clones came out. I read a lot of fanfic from then and decided I wanted to try to find them again on tf.net Jedi Council Boards. I did find them, but it turns out that the boards changed some coding and now almost all of the stories are cut off.

I found one author on ff.net but she only posted some of the stories. Would it be weird to PM them years later asking for the stories? I have fond memories of them and just wish I could find them again.

It sounds like in a lot of modern fantasy, fairies are portrayed as kind of chaotic evil, but I never associated them with evil particularly. I kind of assumed they could be good or bad, depending on the circumstances.

So does anyone know of anything that has them portrayed as more neutral? Or where some of them are good and some are bad? Or just something different from the typical urban fantasy portrayal.

How do you get to the point where you can be called an idiot or a moron, have someone tell you you're just basically wrong because you just clearly don't understand things as well as them, without wanting to cry? How do you get that thicker skin? How do you deal with being made to feel foolish, and then insulted for feeling foolish, and hen mocked for being hurt without wanting to slit your wrists? How do you get to the point where months later the thought of this thing happening barges into your head and you break the fuck down into a panicky sobbing breathless mess IN FUCKING PUBLIC, well how do you get to the point of that not happening? How do you get to the point where you can type this without shaking?
