Do you know many artists and creative people? They're ALL hard on themselves, unless they have huge egos, and the ones with huge egos rarely make good art. It's human nature to doubt yourself, and when you're creating something, you tend to lose perspective on how good or bad it is because you're too immersed in it. Is it good or bad? Who knows anymore, it's all just lines and blobs of color to you now!

Not to mention that sometimes the things that *I* like as a writer aren't the same things that other people really connect to, and that surprises me. It's usually a pleasant surprise, but I don't always understand the reasoning behind it because... /points to first paragraph

Well no, which is why I asked. Except me, and I think my stuff is shite, but it sells anyway... so I'm curious as to whether there's a chance that I'm being too hard on myself.
