Inspired by #9

Shows (or comics, etc.) that were short-lived and either are forgotten or you can see being forgotten, but you loved and/or want them to be remembered; what are they?

THE FINDER

God damn that show ruled so hard. I suppose it would never have been able to get a second season anyway (RIP Michael Clarke Duncan) but it's still a real bummer that no one watched it or remembers it. It was so well done and it represented so many things that I'd like to see other series emulate.

I couldn't get past the fact that I really hate the actor who starred. And also the disgusting toilet scene in the Bones crossover episode. The idea intrigued me, but I really hate his smug face so much I couldn't watch.

Trophy Wife. Awful title, very sweet and funny show.

I actually liked that a lot, considering the premise, yeah.

+1 It was the modern family we deserved.

Trophy Wife and The Crazy Ones were the most unfair cancellations of that season.

The first half of Flashforward was so good. I'm sure there's been a lot of shows that have been canceled that I've forgotten too.

Carnivale. It's still got a place on a lot of the cult favorite lists, but as each year passes it gets more obscure. I'm genuinely more upset over the loss of that show than Firefly.

Eleventh Hour (US) with Rufas Sewell

I enjoyed this show so much. I liked that the FBI handler was the woman, and the scientist was the guy who needed protecting. I liked the "cases" they caught. I thought the leads had great chemistry (one of my first hardcore het ships). I think it's probably good it only had one season but I wish some others had liked it.

I watched some of that due to my Rufus Sewell crush. I don't remember much about it. Did it have a full season?

Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Moral Orel.

It is hard to find people who have seen either. I know Space Ghost is probably a cult classic by now but I don't see much of it.

Moral Orel is such a fantastically dark show and I wish more people had seen it!

Is Space Ghost: Coast to Coast the one where he's a "late night" host and interviews celebrities?

I used to watch that. I never saw the original Space Ghost but I watched that version. It was fun.

Moral Orel is great. In some ways, too legitimately good (and dark and fucked-up) to be embraced by fandom - people just appreciate it quietly, because there's nothing to say, really.

Terriers (most people have never even heard of it, but it was fucking brilliant; like, almost 'Justified' kind of good) and The Middleman (which was so funny and incredibly clever). Both deserved more.

Also, Tiger and Bunny. (Sure it had a few films, but it was fantastic and could've easily had another full season.)

Alphas. It wasn't the most amazing show but I'm still very sad about the season 2 cutoff from the network. It basically ended on a serious cliffhanger and will never be rebooted.

The Invisible Man - the SciFi Cannel series where the guy is implanted with an artificial gland tat secretes a goo called quicksilver that renders him invisible when it covers his body. It was clever and darling.

Journeyman

That show is my Firefly, and if I ever win an obscene amount of money in the lottery, first I'm going to buy the rights to it and all the music in it, make some connections and release a kickass DVD set. Then I'm making a sequel series.
