In terms of how extreme their views are compared to the American public, maybe, but as politicians, that's a pretty insulting comparison.

Depends on which Republican wins. Most of them are just as extreme, so I think there are some of them he could beat.

I live in a progressive liberal city and so many of my hippie vegan friends are frothing over Sanders, and then I look at his platform and pragmatically think "there is no fucking way he'd win against a Republican."

Except maybe Trump. But I am even more despondent to think that there is such a large percentage of this country embracing their angry white cis racist sexist hatefucking side to make him anything remotely close to a viable candidate. I hate this country.

I live in Iowa, and when I heard about how well Trump was polling here, I wanted to weep. Come on, fellow Iowans, you're supposed to be smarter than that.

Course, people in my state also elected Steve King, so... *Sighs*
