Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC questions (vague spoilers)

Thank you very much for the thorough reply, anon! I feel well educated now.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do, but I'll think about it. At least I have a bit of a better idea what I'll be getting into.

Honestly, the added difficulty doesn't appeal to me because I play these games largely for the story, characters and role playing, but I do enjoy exploring too; the new maps do appeal to me, just not as much as a more story based DLC like Trespasser. I don't dislike the gameplay, but it isn't the major draw; I'd mostly be playing to see new areas, experience the story and get any new insight or banter from the characters.

So... Idk. I imagine I've put over 400 hours into tthe game so I don't so much mind paying for DLC, I'd just rather get it on sale. (How many times did you play the game? 1000 hours is a lot! I can see how you could get there if you play most or all the romances though. The first time I beat the base game I had sunk about 150+ hours into it.)

I guess if each is about 3 hours (have no idea how accurate that is) that's a chunk of game left; some full length games aren't that long.

Hmm.

Thanks again! (Glad you confirmed that Trespasser has to be done post game; I still have plenty of playthroughs I need to finish.)

ayrt (woops late response)

Maybe it'll go on sale around the holidays but afaik the DA2 DLC never went on sale and I've seen a lot of discussion about how Bioware tends to keep their DLC full price even as the game gets discounted.

I'm about seven hours into my 10th Inquisitor. -_-; I just really haven't gotten attached to any of the quizzies I've played. (Not like my Warden. I've done several full playthroughs of Origins+DLC with the same damn warden making all the same decisions.)

It might go on sale a LITTLE, but if it does it probably won't be much. Actually, IIRC JOH was $10 the other day instead of the original $15, so while not a huge discount it's something. I'd be content with the others getting a similar discount in a few months (Or so... Though I might not be able to resist for that long now that everything is out).

I actually only got around to playing the DA2 DLC last year when I was replaying DA:O and DA2 in preparation for Inquisition, and it was not super cheap, no. It was still close to full price.

Aww, that's too bad! I always end up being most fond of my first BioWare playthrough. It's been that way with all my Shepard's, Warden's, Hawke's, etc; I love my others, but the first is special.

Maybe you'll eventually find one to love, but the writing for the Inquisitor might not appeal to you on the same level. Not many people seem to be as fond of Hawke or the Inquisitor as they are of their Warden.
