^ THIS. Has no one read the Superior Iron Man series from this year? This is super generalized but Tony Stark is a Tony Stark distilled to 300 proof and he's basically drugging and blackmailing the world into submission with technology. Pepper is trying to stop him with an alternate Tony while Matt Murdock (Daredevil) tries to stop Tony physically and Tony gets really rapey with Matt? Keep in mind that normal Tony and Matt are actually friends, but Tony does some twisted things to Matt and then mindwipes him so he won't remember anything. And then kindly, creepily takes Matt to the hospital to recover from his brain trauma and pays for all his bills. Because friends! And Pepper apparently knows all the 'depraved' things Tony's done but she still can't kill him because she loves him.

This is Marvel comic canon. If they're not trying to get people to hate on Tony, I don't know what they're doing.
