(Anonymous) 2015-09-13 03:40 am (UTC)(link)Kids can be cruel sometimes. I was a "good" student in school (would probably have been streamed as gifted if the concept had existed then). Never realized how much the other kids resented it until we had a spelling bee and I got a word wrong for the first time. The class burst into loud applause. It was a useful lesson, but not the most pleasant one.

Being well-spoken and genuinely engaged in/passionate about whatever you're discussing is a good thing. It's a trait I wish I had more of. I hope you are now in, or can find, a place where you can use your speaking talents, and they can be welcome and appreciated.
