Naaaah. Bright hair colors aren't limited to queers or geeks or one specific aesthetic, whereas fedoras tend to be way less worn.

A person who likes to dye their hair unnatural colors could be a huge raver, queer and flaunting it, into alternative fashion, a cosplayer, a women's studies major...

Like, you can't automatically tell what their deal is.

I like unusual hair colors because I just like colors in general and I like expressing myself through my appearance.

Yeah, pretty much my point exactly. Fedoras are a waaaay more limited aesthetic, and you really only tend to see them on neckbeards, male anime nerds, PUA creeps, or people who are super into period revival (and those people are usually really easy to pick out).

da

I'm a woman, but I think fedoras look great on lots of people. But it can only be worn slightly classy, so when you have people in gaming T-shirts with hair that's unkempt, it just looks awkward. But dress yourself nicely and fedoras look great.

Same with bright hair colors. They look stupid as fuck unless the rest of your appearance is cared for.

I'll agree with this, but like... any single piece of fashion accoutrement can look bad if the rest of the wardrobe is stained t-shirts and ripped jeans.

Well yeah. I think I just understand op's point on comparing fedoras/bright hair colors. They're associated with the "alternative" types, if you will, the geeks and such. And there's that stereotype about neckbeards/the female equivalent (hairy thigh women? I'm trying to think of something comparable lol) not always dressing the best.

I sometimes streak my hair in colors because why not. It's fun, and it's not permanent.
