I think it's that way with any long runner, especially ones read in your youth. Endings can also make or break a series. I remember loving a 10-book length series, and it got to the last two books. Book 9 was meh and book 10 was AWFUL. It breaks your heart.

But it doesn't discount the fact you read the other books, and something in them definitely touched you. Even if they don't live up to the standards you'd given them.

It's part of the reason I find reading comics hard. On the other hand, I'm always excited to see more buff guys in manga. Maybe because they're rarer and not as freaky? And those that are freaky are purposefully over the top?

Season 2 was a fucking mess (but Skye's one of my favorites so...) and went off the rails in the second half. And the way the show treated abuse and brainwashing is vile.

I don't think I've ever looked at a Krogan and thought, "that Krogan is hot". (Don't get me wrong, they're one of my favorite races in ME, I've just never found them attractive.)

I just don't get why it absolutely has to be Idris Elba (other than the fact that he's just about the only black actor a lot of the people whining about diversity seem to know) - or a black guy in general. James Bond is a Brit, an ethnically Indian Bond would make much more sense if you want to diversify the role so badly.

It might be the art style? I don't know this canon but when I scrolled past it I thought it was a long haired bishounen just because those are so common and I'm used to people looking like that being male characters.
