On an emotional level, I liked season 1 more, partly because there was a smaller ensemble and they had more of an "underdog family" feel (but Skye unfortunately always was a major focus - it's just gotten worse is all). The Inhumans storyline is very boring and I wish they'd just drop it already. The spin-off should have been Skye and them, to be honest, because Bobbi and Hunter fit in with the rest of the show a lot better than the Inhuman stuff and then they really could just make Skye the main star like they so clearly want to do.

However, I think at least the first half of season 2 was objectively or at least more consistently better written. (The first half of season 1 and the second half of season 2 are about equally bad, in different ways). And I love how they developed Fitz and Simmons - when they remembered to give them meaningful screentime...

tldr: I agree and disagree.

ITA with you about the spin-off. I was so hoping it'd be Skye and an Inhumans team. That way I could see if I liked it and if not, still have AoS. It would make so much more sense, especially since they said they were potentially setting it up in the season finale.
