While I found it flawed in several ways, ultimately I liked season 3 of Heroes, which is not how I expected to walk away given my own very brief first impression and what fandom had to say about it.

I have a question about Tumblr. If you follow someone, do they see your posts even if they don't follow you?

I'm asking because someone just asked me to unfollow them. Which I don't get how that does anything for them that blocking wouldn't.

And the only reason I can figure they wanted me not to follow them is because I ship their NOTP. Even though we've gotten along fine before, even though we haven't talked a whole lot.

A question to the academically inclined people of FS: Are there any good publications about how LGBT themes evolved in literature? Like how in the early 20th century books with gay and lesbians couldn't have happy endings, when and how that changed, receptions of LGBT themed books, theories on how LGBT-themed media was influenced by the culture of the time, etc. I read a few interesting articles about the New Woman movement and how the portrayal of female characters changed around the 1900s, it got me curious about queer characters, but I don't really know where to start looking.

One of my dear friends is getting married, and I'm really happy for her! She's got a registry set up, and I'm definitely going to get something for her and her husband-to-be from that, but would it be alright if I got her something else as well? I was thinking about something small, like a pair of custom candle holders (for tea candles, so they're not too big). I think she really would like the ones I'm looking at, but I'd have to send her some color swatches, to ask what colors they'd both want.

Would that be alright? That way she gets something I know she wants, but I do really think she'd like these candle holders as well. (And I'm thinking about adding some electric lights, so that they can use them even if they can't have candles in their apartment.)

My favourite thing in fic (no doubt influenced by rl) is the breakdown of a family or frienship. And by breakdown I mean it breaks. No miscommunication, no changing sides, no "they didn't really understand but now they do". Just a total breakdown where they are not forgiven and you're better off for removing them.

I know in most tv shows there is always a push to forgive, accept because their *faaaamily* and I find it grating. I know semi recently there was a secret about not liking how ncis kept pushing one of their characters to accept his shitty dad back because their *faaaamily*.mI'm glad other people dont like this troupe.

Anyone else have thoughts? Or opinions? About this in fiction I mean.
