then don't get a shitty tattoo in the first place, not that hard to look at the tattoo artist's portfolio and see what you're in for.

No, but even if you don't get a "shitty" tattoo (cool judgement btw), tattoos fade over time regardless of what you do and regardless of how good the artist is. That means at some point you either shell out for a touchup or decide not to, and not everyone has the time or money to waste on that.

I... I'm pretty sure that was not your point? OP said she judged shitty and faded tattoos, and you brought up the "but it's not someone's fault, because they fade over time and not everyone can afford a touch-up!" The point is that they still look terrible no matter what your reason is. And other people can think it looks dumb. It sucks, but it's true.

I get that, and you know if it is super old I am more lenient with my judgeyness, but you should also take good care of your tattoo, and a lot of people just... don't. If you never put sunscreen on your tattoo and its exposed all the time its going to blow out faster, as I have seen happen with people I know. Its on your body, take good care of it.

All of this is true. I constantly put sunscreen on mine if I'm going out, and as a result it's in good shape after 6+ years.

...I'd actually say I judge people who don't wear sunscreen in general more than I would judge them simply for poor tattoo care though.

Nah, I get more offended on an artistic level for fucked up tattoos than if someone just has a bad sunburn or w/e. But hey, the premise of this thread is dumb stuff you judge people for, not reasonable things.
