Oh me as well. I just didn't say anything about it to give them more fuel to mess with me and bother me.

I silently rage every time I see it used that way ("that's the most autistic thing ever lol") and give my screen a middle finger. But people like that won't be moved by an explanation of why you shouldn't say that.

Yep. They seem to find a lot of hobbies and fun stuff "cringey", and spend half their existence complaining about people. By the end of the year I got the impression that most everyone was sick of them.
