Re: TW Rape and references to rape culture

Because murder is way worse than rape. Of course it is more harshly punished.

And you think that because you live in a rape culture where rape is an issue for over half the population, but murder is an issue for everyone.

Not the same anon.

Killing someone is worse than raping someone. It's robbing them of their whole life. I understand that rape is traumatizing and awful, but it's still not being dead.

It is worse. Rape robs a woman of her person hood, it robs her of herself. The body lives but the soul of the woman has been taken. Its a torture that bodily pain or bodily death simply isn't on the same level. Rape is a loss of somthing much more important to some people than their life.

I don't agree, but I understand where you are coming from.

I am a rape victim myself and I still would "prefer" it (maybe not the right term, but the only one I can think of at the moment) to being killed.

"Rape robs a woman of her person hood, it robs her of herself. The body lives but the soul of the woman has been taken."

This is actually a really offensive view of rape victims, jsyk.

Yeaaaaah

I saw that and was like "yikes, no"

Okay, you go talk to some rape survivors about whether or not they'd rather be dead.

Then go talk to some murder survivors.

Re: TW Rape and references to rape culture

This is offensive and condescending. Where do you get off telling rape survivors that they are soulless and robbed of themselves? You think that helps with their recovery and makes them feel better? Jesus.

Jeez, please tell me you don't actually work with sexual assault victims. Nothing helps someone heal like being told that they're irretrievably broken and ruined. You're literally repeating the old "rape is a fate worse than death."

do the rape victim live in horror for the rest of their life or do they being threat by it? are rapist trying to stalks/attacks/threats their victims repeatedly? or it just so call 'one night stand'? do the victims even know their rapist?

well, and then there's death.

care to kept live in harassment? sure bet i not, and to the definitely hell, illegally piece of sh*t,immoral damn to the core, RAPE.
