Been rereading some old Harry Potter fic. And I've noticed that writers, in an attempt to show how rich Draco is, often mention that Persian rugs in his house. But would that be something they have?

I'd assume that a pureblood would turn their nose up at muggle antiques. Of course, their are probably Persian wizards but I doubt their rugs would hold the same "rich" place as they would in the real world.

I know I am overthinking this, but it annoys me.

Eh well considering that its impossible to know exactly what life is like for a pureblood wizard, people automatically go for things they associate with rich people.

I could see them having a Persian rug because it looks nice. I mean I dunno if there's such a thing as wizard specific rug. It's a rug.

I'm sure pureblood wizards have no objection to Muggles...in their place. That probably applies to Muggle artifacts too. Sort of like those people who love Mexican/Central American/Caribbean food but rant vilely about Latinos Taking Our Jobs.
