True, but it'd be nice to see someone who wasn't all "I just want to be loved and liked and full up on friends and family!" Why CAN'T there be a Disney princess who likes their solitude?

Because that would be boring? Movies don't exist so you can feel represented and better about yourself. They exist to tell a good story. The others are just perks for the people they apply to.

Really? I read that as a generic "you".
And it's true what they say.

Some character types aren't represented as main characters in stories because the way they react is hard to turn into an engaging story.

And Disney in particular aims to be appreciated by a majority. They can't target the same niche audience as Netflix.
