Re: Any female Republicans here?

Hi.

I'm sure that you're a Democrat if you're asking this question, so can I ask if you're 100% on board with everything that your party does? I'm willing to bet not. And that's how being a Republican woman is for me. There are things I can't stand about the platform, and I vote for more moderate candidates (mostly on social issues), but in the end, their main tenets fall into line with how I feel. Small government and fiscal responsibility, among others.

Well, according to Chard you are actually Republican so you can get access to some of that hot Republican dick.

What candidates do you like?

"Fiscal responsibility" is nice and all but it has zero to do with anything the Republicans are doing right now.

I think it's not coming up in the primaries because that's one of the core Republican tenets. They're not going to discuss it as much because it's understood they all agree.

That's not what I mean. I mean that Republican fiscal policies are anything but responsible.

Oh, I see. I'm not knowledgeable about that sort of thing but have seen experts pledge faith toward both sides.

"Fiscal responsibility" is exactly why someone who is socially liberal would vote republican. Except the republicans version of fiscal responsibly means cutting government services, jobs, essential welfare and privatizing.

OP

Thank you for responding. I realised after I posted that my question came off as more than a little harsh, but I'm glad you answered.

To answer your question, I am registered Democrat, but that's because the rest of my family was, and I had no idea what else to check. I don't know where I actually am, politically, and I think that is in part the reason why I have been scrutinizing this media circus.

One of my relatives and his wife switched suddenly to Republican, because they're more than a little racist and wanted to distance themselves from Obama. They became outspoken anti-gay, anti-abortion, anti-pretty much everything, to the extent where he was attacking strangers on Facebook as well as family because he did not agree with the pro-choice or pro-gay marriage memes they would post. We have since cut ties with him.

These are the same kind of things that I see women cheering for on the news, and I just cannot understand how they can so enthusiastically be involved.

A lot of it is religion, imo. A lot of religions place men as superior to women.

There's a difference between supporting a party that has some policies you don't agree with, and supporting a party that disagrees with giving people some pretty basic rights because they're not the right kind of people.
