As a diehard shipper, I hate when some huge obstacle comes along and makes it much more difficult to ship a non-canon pairing than it previously was. That has, once or twice, caused me what could maybe be deemed a "shipping crisis" of the less severe sort.

But yeah, when people get so up in their own headcanon about a ship that they can't bear to acknowledge it isn't actually canon, I do kind of roll my eyes at that. As diehard as I am and as deeply invested in my OTPs as I am, I never allowed myself to forget that my headcanon/fanon is NOT canon and is very, very, very, very unlikely to ever be canon.
